My professional background includes a B.S. and M.S. from Southern Illinois University–Carbondale and post-graduate (Ph.D.) studies at Purdue University. I am also a Certified Community Developer through the University of Oklahoma. In addition, I have extensive experience as a college professor, having taught at Ozark Technical College, Missouri State University, Southern Illinois University, Saint Louis University, and Southwestern Illinois College.
